by Ranko Skansi, M.Sc. A tipical secesian standalone building in the center of Zagreb was picked to be a pilot project for an extended study of decorative lighting in Zagreb. In the past this building was built for the purposes of National Library, and recently a Croatian National Archieve is situated there. An architect Lubynsky, who proposed a, so called "Green hors-shue" in Zagreb is the one that designed and constructed this building. Several famous croatian sculptors were engaged to do a typical sculptures that dominate just bellow the roof plane. Therefore a specialistic aproach was applied. Building is surrounded by park, where we suggested to improve park lighting in sense of helping in the scenery creation. For the purposes of better scenery building, we "split" a building into several components. At the following schematic picture it is well illustrated a principle of illumination, but particulars can bee seen by clicking on the segments, described at the left of this section. Architectural scetches and lighting plans can be seen by following this link (>>>>>>>).
